Today’s Status Update won’t be a big one, as I know you would rather be out trying to bag a Lynx than reading what I have to write.

New Species

The wait is over, today the elusive Lynx has been released into Hemmeldal. As promised there will be a thread setup in the forums for everyone to share their hunting tactics, locations and kills. The aim of this is to work together as a community to help each other out. Think of it like a bunch of local hunters sitting around a campfire talking about sightings and offering tips to each other.

I shared this last week, but here is some information you might like to know:

• The Lynx can be called using the ‘Jack Rabbit’ Predator caller, new Scent Spray and E-Caller add-on.
• The new Lynx call for the E-Caller is a one time purchase and will work on all your E-Callers. The call can be selected when you activate the caller options, default key is ‘B’.
• The Lynx is by design a very rare and elusive animal. They are always going to be in a spawn, but have low population numbers and are very jumpy. This is done to give you a great sense of pride and achievement when you do bag one, as well as to mimic them in real life.
• I would recommend as a community scouting the maps to find areas where there are Lynx tracks and sharing the information, as well as working out what hunting techniques are working. I have both stalk hunted them and stand hunted them with good results.
• There is a new mission pack for the Lynx.

Tomorrows stream will be fully focused on the Lynx and we can try and work out how to hunt them together!

New Transport

Some of you caught wind of a new vehicle that is soon to be added into the EHR. We are pretty early into development with it, but we are focusing on making sure that it maintains balance in the EHR and can not be used to exploit the game, while also adding mobility and some additional functionality to the game.

This question will be answered by our Producer, Beth, here is her reply!

“VR support is not on our current roadmap, although that could be a possibility in the future as VR becomes a more popular mode of play. Today, making a change like this would consume considerable development time, but unfortunately is not likely to benefit the majority of our players. For now, we want to focus our time on changes that will benefit as many players as possible such as fresh new features, and improvements to our existing content. But as I mentioned – as we see VR becoming more popular over time, this could be a good reason to include it in our future plans.”

Make sure to head over and let us know what you would like to know. A friendly bit of advice is to make sure they are questions, “I want to see X’ Is not a question and makes it hard for anyone to answer.

Known Issue(s)/Fixes

Projectiles not registering after 500m. Today we have released a fix for this and we are confident you will be able to drop animals at even longer distances now. I will be keeping an eye on the leaderboards.

What’s bugging you the most?

We are still working on the list and working out which ones are achievable to fix. Once we have a more solid list, we will let you know what you can expect in the near future.

Rare and Trophy of the Week

These Weekly competitions are super popular. The Trophy of the Week gets selected on Monday’s and Rare of the Week gets selected on Wednesday’s.

How are we all this week? Has hunting season started yet where you live? I am hoping to get invited back out this year… Perhaps I can get my first Roe deer (which I will definitely share with Graham – This bit may or may not have also been added by Graham)! I know Geese season has started here at least. There are plenty of great videos going around social media, I did not realise Canada Geese had such a high population here in Sweden!

New Species

Not long now and you will be able to put your hunting skills to the test with the new Lynx. Just a quick recap of some of the information you might need to know:

Summer Fiesta 2018

That sees the end of another great Summer Fiesta event. Congratulations to the winners of the Weightsaver Competition, I am sure the Golden .30R is a very nice trophy to have! Congratulations to everyone else who won the Season Comps, I know there was a lot of fierce competition. We had some enquiries about this year’s missions and I for one was interested to see the results:

• 3,948 Players started the missions
• 223 players completed the first mission pack
• 210 players started the second pack and only 77 finished them
• 76 players started the third pack and only 35 completed the last pack

So if you are one of these 35 players, congratulations and like I said at the start of the event, that is an achievement you can feel proud of! To celebrate, we have awarded you all with a nice little completion badge.

Looking at these results, we can see that the first two mission packs might have been a little challenging. Next year we will revise the packs and at least make the first two a little more achievable. Though in saying that… the missions are supposed to be a challenge!

“That is a ‘Wheely’ good question and the timing could not be better! We are actually currently working on a new form of transport in the game, sadly at this stage I cannot tell you more. But there will be more details coming out very soon, thanks for the question!”

This week is pretty exciting, as tomorrow live on stream, I get to show you the new Lynx… that is if I can find one!  

Summer Fiesta 2018

Today see’s the end of the Seasonal Competitions and the last animal added to the Weightsaver Lottery, which is the Banteng! I have been watching the leaderboard for the weightsaver competition, it has been chopping and changing so much, and only 40kgs separate the top 10. The Weightsaver Lottery ends 9am CEST on Saturday, so good luck to all and I hope you find some heavy animals!

Next week we will try have a little recap and try and look at some statistics from the competitions. Is there a question about the event you would like us to try answer? If you do, leave it in the Status Update discussion thread on our forums. I myself want to know how many people got all three mission packs completed!

New Species

So instead of letting you wait to find out what comes with the Lynx and to ease everyone’s minds, this time I thought we would talk a little about what you can expect.

As you can see from the picture, there is some Urine Spray you can use to attract the Lynx, this will work like all the other Urine Sprays. I am sure the USB stick grabbed your attention more though. Once you have purchased this caller upgrade t automatically adds the new call to your E-Caller,, which you can select after placing your E-Caller. Please note, you need need to have purchased the E-Caller previously to be able to add the call.

How does the Lynx differ from the Bobcat?

Well apart from new animations and it being slightly larger, it also has a new animal interaction, but we are keen to let you guys see these interactions for yourselves… Hopefully we do not see it on tomorrow’s stream! Another key thing about the Lynx, this animal will be very rare, with low spawn numbers and on top of that it is very shy. We have done this on purpose to have a realistic representation in the game and once you bag one of these animals you can feel super proud of yourself. This should also accentuate that real life feeling of bagging an animal and all the hard work paying off!

Well it’s that time of the week again, Wednesday, which means a new Status Update! Today we have a quick update on the Summer Fiesta and we also reveal the new species!

Summer Fiesta 2018

Three weeks down and as we head into the last week, the Summer Fiesta Weightsaver Competition is looking super close, Only 30 kgs separate the top 10 players! Though I am sure some people are playing a little reserved until they see the full species list, so they can maximise their attempts! So I would expect some names to move around on the leaderboard towards the final days and the likelihood of some new ones to pop up as well!

This week the Winter Seasonal Cup starts, which sees hunters go after animals that are found on the colder maps! The highest combined score of your unspooked Sitka Deer, Reindeer and Dall Sheep shot at over 50m (Approx. 164 ft) is your competition entry. Targets must be taken down in one shot. Good luck!

Summer Fiesta Missions… Not that I have had time, but I am still stuck on the final mission of the second pack! I need to shoot a charging Grizzly Bear in the brain from under 5m. I thought this one would have been easy. But never fear, tomorrow from 10am till 5pm CEST, I will be streaming and trying to tick off the rest of the missions live! As well as trying to complete them live for myself, if you are stuck on a particular mission, let me know in the Twitch chat what one you are stuck on and we can work on it together! New Species

Yes that is correct folks, the Lynx is not too far away from being released into Hemmeldal. Now some of you will be thinking, “Ah, it’s a reskin of the Bobcat”. Well, you would be correct in the fact that both are very similar looking, just as they are in real life (they are actually both members of the same Lynx genus), but we have added new animations, some new animal interactions, and a different way to lure them! I for one am looking forward to bagging one, as they will be rare and elusive!

How well do you know the EHR??

Last week this was won in under an hour of me posting up the picture, and then I thought I had made a harder one on the Friday by making the competition with four images, but that was ticked off with ease as well. So look out this coming friday for an even more challenging one. To ensure more people with different time zones get a fair shot, I will be putting the new images up at 4pm CEST. It’s great to see so many people know the EHR so well!

Today’s Status Update is again a shorter one, as the Summer Fiesta is taking the main spotlight. However there is some new stuff that is worth a read!

Summer Fiesta 2018

Two weeks into the Summer Fiesta and everything is well underway, the third Season Competition starts today, which is the Fall Cup. For this competition you will need a .270, and you need to Lung or Heart shoot one Bighorn Sheep, one Red Deer and one Wild Boar. The highest average weight of all three animals is your competition entry… oh, and you must be lying prone when you pull that trigger. I’ll be giving this one a go myself this evening!

The Summer Fiesta Missions are proving to be tricky for many, but a lot of people have already finished all three sets! If you are one of these people, congratulations! Now the little one is here, I get less time to play than I used to, but I am up to the last mission of Patricks pack. All I need to do is shoot a Grizzly in the brain while it’s charging with a bow or crossbow under 5m. I must have shot 15 now, and I keep missing the brain, one day i’ll make the shot!

The Summer Fiesta Sales are ongoing and there has been a little confusion over them, we have updated the image in the launcher to try make it more clear. But it’s worth mentioning it in here as well, older items are replaced every two days with news ones, so you don’t miss out, make sure check back regularly!

How well do you know the EHR??

Do you find yourself talking to fellow hunters and describing an area of a map they should try?

“You know, you go across the river, then there are those two big rocks on the right, well turn left at those and then go about another 100m, it’s a great spot!”

It’s time for a fun little tester for all players. I will take a screenshot from a part of a reserve and it’s up to you to tell me where you think it is. Entry requirements will be a screen shot that recreates my shot, but it needs a little personal touch to it, perhaps you make your dog sit in the picture, maybe you put a blind or tree stand up. You could even have your friend posing majestically in the background. First person to post the correct location with a screenshot in our forums will win 500em$. Here is this week’s picture:

New Animal

Last week we announced that we are working on a new animal, and that it would be entering Hemmeldal. Some people have guessed it correctly, you guys are always sharp, but are you as sharp as the new animal?

Hello Hunters,

How are we all on this fine Wednesday? Did you know, the hardest part about these Status Updates for me is writing these introductions. I feel like I am in an elevator and make eye contact with someone I don’t know very well, so have to make awkward conversation. Accept, it’s just me staring at a screen and pretending you are all here, looking over my shoulder reading this. Anyway… 😀

Summer Fiesta 2018

Today we start off this years Summer Fiesta, which runs until August the 31st, that’s right, all month long!

So what can you expect from this event?

The main competition is called ‘Summer Fiesta Weightsaver’. A new animal is added every Wednesday and Friday, the trick to it all is that you never know which animal is next on the chopping block. Your heaviest animal from each species is added together and their combined weight is your competition entry. This event is Single Player only.

Here is a look at the main prize from this competition, the top three people will come away with this amazing .30r.

And some very nicely themed trophies!

The second part to this event are weekly competitions that are season themed (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), these ones can be completed in either Multiplayer or Single player and run Wednesday to Wednesday Weekly. As well as em$ there are some very nice trophies that you can win.

Missions

This event is notorious for hard mission packs and I personally think that a player that manages to acquire all three badges this year, should have maximum bragging rights. I am very interested to see how everyone gets on and how many people manage to finish them all. We have tested them all here and they are all achievable… we understand they might not be everyone’s idea of fun, but a lot of the community enjoy a good challenge. This year you have to work your way through all the packs, starting at the ‘easiest’ Fire pack and ending at the Insanity pack. Here are the badges you can win!

Good luck to everyone, remember to keep breathing and count to 10 when those missions become a little infuriating. As a little bit of fun, I was talking to Flinter this morning and he was saying that he didn’t think Zaggi had the skills to complete this years missions… shots fired, watch this space!

The Big Five

What an amazing event, we managed to get 2000 entrants exactly and 752 people managed to get a score on the board. Over 2.5million kgs of digital animals were harvested and this was only every players heaviest weighing animal, not all animals that were shot… imagine what that number would have been!

Again we have to thank both theHunter Italy and Fiocchi Munitions, it has been a pleasure working with you both and the amount of positive feedback we have received from the community has been overwhelming.

A list of the top 300 competitors can be found here and a huge congratulations must go to the winners and everyone that participated. I nearly have all the winners details sorted now and I expect to be able to send the prizes out tomorrow!

New Item

It is time for your next clue regarding the soon to be released item. The first clue was

“I am trying to think of a hard clue that you can’t just put holes in with ease…. I think that will do.”

And your second clue is “2+1”

Golden 10 GA not displaying in gun racks. We are working on a fix for this and it will also be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Issues with German pointer and Scent hound. Issues with the Scent Hound tracking behaviour have been resolved in the latest patch.

Turkey and Motion Predator Decoys. This bug has been fixed in the latest patch.
