Game update

Bug fixes
* When aiming with bow the weapon played the animation two times (and the zoom was a bit off)

* Not possible to aim with crossbow without reloading it first, the weapon behave weird when trying to do so

Game Update

Features
* New weapon, 6.5×55 Blaser R8 Bolt Action Rifle

Changes
* .308 “Rival” Handgun is now 8% less powerful than the .308 Anschütz Bolt-Action Rifle. Previously they both performed exactly the same but as some members of the community correctly pointed out this is unrealistic due to the difference in barrel length. This should also benefit game balance since the handgun now makes the rifle less obsolete.
* Removed extra damage multipliers from head & neck shots on Whitetail, Blacktail, Mule Deer & Coyote. Hitting the brain or neck bones still lead to instant death. This tweak should make casual headshots less attractive because you now need to hit the brain, not just any part of the head, for effective kills.

Bug fixes
* Random crash that had to do with tree stands
* Fix for being able to enter world items after they had been removed

Status Update

It’s a lovely, but cold, Wednesday in Stockholm. The fall is well on it’s way. We are settling in in the new office and the wild boar is finally up on the wall. So it almost feel like home now.

Winners
We’ve selected the winners in last weeks trophy shot competition. A big thanks to all of you who participated.  It seems as you liked the new feature.

We decided that all top three entries will receive the Laura Avatar. So the winners are (drum roll!!!):

Third place, who gets Laura Avatar + 500 em$, une

Second place, who gets Laura Avatar + 1000 em$: BambiGoHome

First place, who gets Laura Avatar + 1500 em$: Decoy13

The work on the new species is coming along as planned. We’re just mentioning it so you know what we’re working on, we still have a long way to go before it can be released.

We’re working on improving the GUI system (Graphic User Interface) right now. This will fix a bunch of GUI bugs and allow us to make other improvements and make it easier to add new features.

A new piece of hardware will be released very soon.

Happy Hunting!

* Error handling for when the game fails to open a menu page (inventory, map, menu, loading,…). The player will get an error message and will be able to resume the game instead of a white error page.

Unpermitted Harvests Bug

As many of you may be aware there has been a bug around for a while where achievements can be wrongly awarded when using unpermitted weapons.

In the coming days this bug will be removed and all achievements will be retroactively adjusted. This means that all harvest performed using unpermitted weapons will be subtracted from the amount that makes up each achievement and in cases where there is no longer a sufficient amount of permitted harvests the achievement will be removed.

Naturally this also affect HunterScore and the HunterScore leaderboard since less achievements means a lower score.

Status Update

Hello Hunters,

It’ll be a short update today since we’re terribly busy right now. We’re moving to a new office tomorrow. We’ll move back to the same building as Avalanche are sitting in to be closer to the creators of the game engine.

Tomorrow Pim, Björn and Andres will visit a world acclaimed sight manufacturer to try their products out and see how we could possibly implement them in the game. We’ll tell you more about this at a later date.

We’re still working on the new species, it’s coming along nicely, but we have many many weeks/months ahead of us of before things will start to come together.

We’ve killed a bunch of bugs and you can red about it in the latest game update. We’ll continue to kill bugs so hopefully some more will disappear next week.

Happy hunting
